iryi.frequencies w/ Kate Lizzerd: Infinite Machine

Charlie Juarez founded Infinite Machine during a sabbatical in Montreal. Before that, he was often considered the face of the Mexican screamo scene. While he moved away from the screamo aesthetic, he kept the punk attitude. From there, he discovered early streaming technologies and the SoundCloud culture of music promotion. Infinite Machine grew from these roots into a spearhead label in the streaming era.

While in Montreal, Charlie had a laissez-faire, even chaotic, approach to producing and distributing music. Only after his return to Mexico City, with its aggressive music dynamic, did Infinite Machine take on a more formal structure. The label took shape here through releases from Abyss X, Ziur, and Liar, becoming a powerhouse of experimental post-dubstep sounds. Around this time, Ukrainian artist Art Was Taken also released music on the label.
