Iriy.frequencies w/ Bakunn & Trs: Svbkvlt

This time Iriy Frequencies welcomes TRS and Bakunn, the heads behind the Hum formation, as they present a selection for their progenitor counterparts - Svbkvlt.

Svbkvlt is a modern legendary label hailing from Shanghai. It originated from a series of dubstep parties held at Shelter, a club that was a beacon for electronic music in China. The label was founded in 2013 by Gaz Williams and Blaise Deville.

The Shelter club and Svbkvlt invigorated a generation of Chinese producers by providing a space to create music with a local context rather than being built around expats and imported sounds. With a background in British dub music, Williams naturally infused bass sensitivities into Svbkvlt's curation. However, the label quickly became a hub for experimental musicians working across a wide spectrum of genres.

The label maintains close ties with collectives previously featured on Iriy Frequencies - NAAFI and Hakuna Kulala - further connecting underground scenes worldwide.
