UI Picks is curated by the Underground Institute, an international agency for adventurous music and platform for culture. UI Picks episodes are tailored for selected underground radio stations.
Midori Hirano is a Japanese composer and producer, born in Kyoto and living in Berlin. She mixes organic sounds and field recordings with instruments such as the piano and digital processing. Midori also records electronic music under the moniker MimiCof.
She writes: "This collection consists of my personal favourite music from Japan which had been produced between the 80s and 2000s and most of them are hard to find outside of Japan".
