Haunter Records introduced the notion of eclecticism into the European music discourse. The label was founded in 2012 by Daniele Guerini and Francesco Birsa Alessandri as a music platform for Milan’s experimental scene.
Haunter was built on strong interpersonal connections, and its curatorial approach was not constrained by rigid genre filters. The roster and releases are diverse, ranging from the bleak ambient sound of S S S S to dub techno by Somec. This approach laid the groundwork for the emergence of a new generation of artists unbound by previous musical discourse, including Lutto Lento, Giant Swan, and Broshuda.
A warm selection of dreamy electronics, downtempo and leftfield grooves. An intimate winter listening session.
A vinyl selection by Oleksandr Freemanenko, composed exclusively of releases by Ukrainian producers. Tracks by Kurilo, Komponente (R.I.P.), O’FourtyFour, Volodymyr Gnatenko, Roman Khropko, and others are woven by the author into a musical narrative at the crossroads of different genres. And although Ukrainian artists are currently based in various corners of the world, their music in this mixtape organically merges into a hypnotic, trip-like flow.
